To access these built in statistics, log in at CatholicWeb.com, and select Website Accounts, followed by Edit Your Websites. Select Build Site for the sites you are interested in. From there, select Step 1 (Account Setup) on the lower menu, and then Site Status from the options on the left.

Keep in mind the build in counter only counts page loads. If you are looking for a more detailed statistics such as unique visitors and pages per visitor, we recommend StatCounter. StatCounter is a free service and does an excellent job with counting stats. Here is a quote from their official website:

"A free yet reliable invisible web tracker, highly configurable hit counter and real-time detailed web stats. Insert a simple piece of our code on your web page or blog and you will be able to analyse and monitor all the visitors to your website in real-time!"

Note: We cannot make any guarantees about code that is copied into EZWeb. Our support for a 3rd party counter is extremely limited.

If you are unable to understand the tutorials provided on StatCounter's website, please follow these instructions to add a stat counter to your homepage:

1. Create an account at StatCounter.com with your desired information. (Once signed up, you should be at the Add Project page)
2. In the Project URL field, insert the URL of the page you wish to have your stat counter displayed on (something like http://home.catholicweb.com/parishNameHere).
3. The rest of the options on this page are up to you to decide. Once everything is filled out, press the Add Project button.
4. Once submitted, you can close out of that tab in your internet browser (Ctrl-W).
5. Next, follow the steps below to access the EZWeb site building tool. If you already know how to access your EZWeb site building tool, skip to step 6.
   1. Go to www.CatholicWeb.com.
   2. Enter your username and password on the left under MEMBER LOGIN.
   3. Once logged in, click on Website Accounts and select Edit Your Websites.
   4. You will see of all your accounts. Click Build next to the site you wish to work on.
6. Once you are at your EZWeb SiteBuilder, click on Step 3 at the bottom of your page, followed by Open Page on the left.
7. Selecting edit for the Page Footer from the list will add a few options to the left side of your screen.
8. Select Content on the left of your screen. This will bring up the text editor.
9. Click on the Source button in the text editor.
   
10. Once switched to source view, copy (Ctrl-C) the following text and paste(Ctrl-V) it into the text editor.

11. Lastly, press save at the bottom of your EZWeb page where you just pasted the text, and press View on the left of your screen to see your stat counter. (It will be located at the bottom left of the webpage)

The only catch is that you have to install it yourself. In order to install Speckie, please follow the steps below:

1. Click Here to go to Speckie's download page.
2. Click on the "Download Speckie vX.X.X" text to start the download.
   1. If prompted, choose to "run" the file.
3. Once the download is finished (if the "run" option has not already been chosen), double-click on the file to run it.
4. Follow the on-screen instructions to install Speckie on your machine.
5. Once the installation is completed, you can launch Internet Explorer.
6. You will now see a bar pop-up at either the top or bottom of your window (depending what version of Internet Explorer you are using).
   1. If the bar is at the top of your window, click on it and select "Run ActiveX Control" to allow Speckie to run.
   2. If the bar is at the bottom of your window, choose "Enable" to allow Speckie to run.
7. Speckie should now be installed, and you will now receive a red, squiggly line under misspelled words.

To get there yourself, go to CatholicWeb.com, and click on the "Join Today" picture under "Member Login" in the main menu of our homepage. Fill out the short form provided and press Submit This Request.

Microsoft Internet Explorer users

Viewing History

• Microsoft Internet Explorer 9 users can view their history by clicking on the Favorites (star) button at the top right of your screen and selecting the "History" tab.
• Alternatively, you can press and hold the Ctrl key and then press H key on your keyboard.

Deleting History

• Microsoft Windows users running Internet Explorer 9 can delete their history by clicking the Tools (gear) button at the top right of your screen (adjacent to the star), holding your mouse over "Safety" and then selecting "Delete Browsing History." A window will then appear that lets you select what to delete. If all you wish to delete is your history, uncheck all boxes other than the one to the left of "History." Press the "Delete" button at the bottom of the window, and your history will then be deleted.
• Alternatively, you can hold down the Ctrl and Shift buttons on your keyboard and press Delete to bring up the window.

Viewing History

• Firefox users can view their history by clicking on the orange "Firefox" button at the top left of your screen and selecting "History."
• Alternatively, you can press and hold the Ctrl key and then press H key on your keyboard.

Deleting History

• Firefox users can delete their history by clicking on the orange "Firefox" button at the top left of your screen, hovering over "History" and selecting "Clear Recent History..." A window will then appear that allows you to select the time period to delete. Once the correct time period is selected ("Everything" if you want to delete all history), press the "Clear Now" button at the bottom of the window, and your history will be deleted.
• Alternatively, you can hold down the Ctrl and Shift buttons on your keyboard and press Delete to bring up the window.

This is a value-added service provided by these bulletin publishers. 3. Click Bulletin Subscriptions
4. Click Unsubscribe on all desired subscriptions

First, some examples. Here are some popular websites. Scroll to the very bottom of each of these examples, and pay close attention to how they defined a bottom to their site, and note the information found in the footer areas.

In each site above, they have chosen a footer design that best fits thier site. In call cases, they have included some information, and links where applicable. Now let's move on to setting up a Page Footer on your site.

Once logged in, navigate to Step 3, and then edit your Page Footer. Click on Content to start editing. The simplest way to create an easy footer is to use a table. So, click Insert/Edit Table, and enter the following values, and then click OK:

• Rows: 2
• Columns: 1
• Border size: 0
• Width: 100 percent
• Cell spacing: 0
• Cell padding: 0

What we have created is a full site width footer with two rows. Since these are table cells, we can type in them freely. I went ahead and typed my email address, and my phone number in the first row. In the second, I typed Copyright 2009. Highlight both sets of text, and apply some Center justification to line them up nice.

While this would suffice as a footer, we want to go one step further and define the footer area by adding accenting colors. To do this, simply right-click in the top cell, and select Cell --> Cell Properties. On the Cell Properties prompt, you will notice a border color attribute in the lower right hand corner. Click Select, and then click on the color you would like to apply to the background of that cell row. Use your imagination here. What generally works is choosing colors that complement the dominent colors in your website background and window background. Choosing lighter or darker shades of the colors in your window background will often do the trick. With some trial and error, I'm confident you can come up with some nice colors to complete your footer, and website.

Note: Anytime you are using tables, you will to double check the font sizes as well as colors. Tables are not bound by the site settings, so you may need to apply font style and size to text in the table. Generally, applying a 12px font size works well.

There are several types of cookies, and you can choose whether to allow some, none, or all of them to be saved on your computer. However, a Web site only has access to the personally identifiable information that you provide. For example, a Web site cannot determine your e-mail name unless you provide it. Also, a Web site cannot gain access to other information on your computer. Once a cookie is saved on your computer, only the Web site that created the cookie can read it.

Persistent cookies
A persistent cookie is one stored as a file on your computer, and it remains there when you close Internet Explorer. The cookie can be read by the Web site that created it when you visit that site again.

Temporary cookies
A temporary or session cookie is stored only for your current browsing session, and is deleted from your computer when you close Internet Explorer.

First-Party vs. Third-Party cookies
A first-party cookie either originates on or is sent to the Web site you are currently viewing. These cookies are commonly used to store information, such as your preferences when visiting that site. A third-party cookie either originates on or is sent to a Web site different from the one you are currently viewing. Third-party Web sites usually provide some content on the Web site you are viewing. For example, many sites use advertising from third-party Web sites and those third-party Web sites may use cookies. A common use for this type of cookie is to track your Web page use for advertising or other marketing purposes. Third-party cookies can either be persistent or temporary.

Unsatisfactory cookies are cookies that might allow access to personally identifiable information that could be used for a secondary purpose without your consent.

Internet Explorer allows the use of cookies; however, you can change your privacy settings to specify that Internet Explorer prompt you before placing a cookie on your computer (this enables you to allow or block the cookie); or you can prevent Internet Explorer from accepting any cookies.
